Mulled Merlot

   

Serves 4

INGREDIENTS:
2 bottle (750 ml) merlot, Sterling Vineyards®
4 pkg mulling spices, Williams-Sonoma® (or any available brand)

Prep Time: 5 minutes

PREPARATION:

  • Place the mulling spices in a tea ball.
  • Pour the merlot into a saucepan. Add the tea ball full of spices and gently heat until warm.
  • Remove the wine from the heat before it begins to boil. Extract the tea ball with a spoon.
  • Pour the mulled merlot into red wine goblets.
  • Garnish with a small ornament dangling from a gold straw. Serve warm.

Helpful Hint: If you don’t have a tea ball, add the spices directly to the saucepan with the wine. When the wine is heated, remove the spices by pouring the wine through a strainer.
